Group Project Mail In Show
GROUP PROJECT | MAIL-IN SHOW
January 10 - February 7, 2004
Reception for the artists: 7-10 pm, Saturday, January 10th
LONDON STREET PROJECTS
2924 Bellevue Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90026
gallery hours: Saturdays 12-6 pm
or by appointment: (213) 413-1210
This exhibition is intended as the last show at London Street Projects.
Many artists were asked to create a work of any kind so as it is
mailed/postmarked/delivered by the U.S. Post, addressed to London Street
Projects; and so the piece physically passes through the mail slot in the
front door of the project space. No thematic framework was given except
to encourage a work expressly created FOR London Street Projects. Aspects of foregoing possesion of a work after it has been delivered was also emphasized when artists were invited. In addition, L.A. artist Daniel
Mendel-Black will create free-standing sculptural "display armatures" on
which some work may be installed.
